“New wine from Bodegas Proelio. I’m in love with old vine Garnacha.”Tim Atkin MW.
Named after the eponymous vineyard, this red comes from 80-year-old Garnacha vines in Badarán. The soils contain depleted ferrous clay as well as angular colluvial stones on the topsoil. The old-clone vines are over 80 years of age and the wine is made with full clusters hence the character of the variety prevails. La Canal del Rojo is thus a different wine —fresh, fruity, mineral, and transparent as it expresses Garnacha’s elegant side, with wild notes; aromatic and persistent..
