From the Alto de Najerilla, in an elevated area between Badarán and Baños de Río Tobías, we discovered, almost by chance, these unique plots of old vines of Viura and poor sandy soils partially degraded with limestone chips from the mother rock.
DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN
The vineyards are located in the Alto Najerilla subzone, in the municipality of Baños de Rio Tobia. Old vineyards with high planting density.
VINEYARD ALTITUDE & AGE:
More than 65 years-old Viuras located at 630 metres.
Ferrous sandy, with carbonate veins that rise horizontally from the limestone bedrock that is 1.2 meters deep, and that is mixed with rocks of a sandy nature.
100% Viura, a selection of old clones from the area.
Manual harvest in 18 kg boxes, pressing without destemming and fermentation in 35 HL barrels for a year in its lees.
Aged in 3500L French oak barrels for 12 months.
"A very fresh wine, with balsamic notes and delicate aromas, that ages with its lees for a little longer than one year, which gives it finesse and silkiness."
