Conservation and sustainability, fundamental pillars for Palacios Vinos de Finca

4 July 2023Last May, Bodegas Palacios Vinos de Finca participated in two important international fairs: FENAVIN and VINEXPO ASIA, which this year changed its location, moving from Hong Kong to Singapore and, therefore, was much more interesting for us due to the possibilities it represented.
A good part of the team travelled to show our wines at both events. David Ferrer, Export Manager, was responsible for the expedition to China while Angela Iglesias and Borja Larroca, Export Director of Palacios Vinos de Finca, were responsible for the stand at Fenavin. With the latter, we took stock of our participation in these events.
Focusing on FENAVIN, in Ciudad Real, given its proximity and its not excessively high cost, it was a great opportunity for our winery because many buyers from all over the world attend it. And so it was. This twelfth edition, held from 9 to 11 May, brought together more than 19,000 national and international buyers and the presence of almost 2,000 wineries and cooperatives from all the Spanish appellations.
"Once again this year, FENAVIN has once again lived up to our expectations. Summing up our participation, this year we have held around 20 meetings with international buyers; in fact, three weeks after the event, these conversations have led to some important agreements with importers", Larroca explains.
Palacios Vinos de Finca was also present at VINEXPO ASIA. Being held in Singapore, an emerging market due to its strategic location as a gateway to the Asian continent, this event became even more attractive for our winery. Therefore, from 23 to 25 May, we travelled with our entire range of wines to the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore, the venue chosen for the event, where 8,000 visitors and 1,000 wine and spirits producers gathered.
"As we expected, Singapore brought together buyers from different Southeast Asian countries and not mainly from China, as was the case when it was held in Hong Kong. We met with importers from South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, India, the Philippines, Dubai, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. In total, 30 meetings from which we came away really satisfied with the enormous possibility of establishing ourselves in new markets", summarises Palacios Vinos de Finca's Export Manager.
"After sowing the first seeds, now it's time to continue the work until we manage to close new deals," he concludes.
Without a doubt, we have an incredible oenological team that knows how to demand the maximum from the vineyard and its fruit. We offer the consumer the most sincere interpretation of our terroirs; wines that, above and beyond producing commercial products, know how to transmit the places they come from.
Palacios Vinos de Finca is the materialisation of a philosophy: to place the territory at the centre of everything as the basis of a winemaking project aimed at producing unique wines. The obsession for the territory both in the Rioja wineries (Nivarius and Proelio) and in the Ribera del Duero winery (Trus). In all of them we practice sustainable viticulture. On our estates we work in a logical rather than ecological way.
