International and national fairs are a key opportunity to make our wines known, strengthen commercial relations and detect new market trends. This year Nivarius, Proelio and Trus have participated in Wine Paris, in France; Prowein, in Germany, and in the Barcelona Wine Week, obtaining very satisfactory results.
Both in the national and international market, the perception of the brand has been highly positive. Those who have tasted our wines have highlighted their quality, personality, commitment to the territory and differentiation in the market.
Among the references that have aroused most interest are: Nivarius Edición Limitada, consolidating itself as a gastronomic differential reference; Lía Reserva, with great reception in international markets; Nivarius Vendimia Tardía, a new launch of 100% Tempranillo Blanco sweet wine that has just seen the light of day and has impressed those who have tasted it in its segment; Punto Geodesico from Bodegas Trus and La Nevera in the parcel range, for its high quality. Finally, the new vintage of Lía Pét-Nat rosé 2024, which has just been released, and Lía Reserva, aged for 60 months in rhyme and made using the traditional method, stood out for their freshness and versatility.
A look at international markets
Our Export Manager Europe, Ángela Iglesias, highlights that both Wine Paris and Prowein, especially the latter, have been strategic spaces to strengthen the winery's presence in international markets.
Among the trends observed, a special interest in Rioja wines was detected. At these events, references such as Nivarius Vendimia Tardía and Lía Reserva, within the premium product range, stood out in particular. Nivarius white wines were a resounding success, consolidating themselves as a differential reference within the wine sector.
At the Wine Paris fair we shared a stand with a small French champagne house Jeaunaux-Robin, located south of Reims, with whom we have a great friendship thanks to a collaboration with our traditional sparkling wine Lía Reserva. This large-scale event was well attended by global buyers and we achieved a very fruitful agenda of meetings. The objectives we set ourselves were met thanks to successful meetings with European and American customers.
At Prowein, an exhibition that has until recently been a major industry event, the number of buyers was perhaps lower than at previous editions. Nevertheless, the quality of the meetings was outstanding. Key appointments were confirmed and new business opportunities arose, especially in the European market.
International trend: growing interest in white and sparkling wines
In the Spanish market, participation in Barcelona Wine Week was also very positive, much more interesting than in previous editions. For Roberto Calleja, National Sales Director, the stand was an excellent showcase to reinforce the identity and quality of the winery. ‘I think that in a short time, we are taking small but very firm steps in the right direction, with a very clear message that highlights the potential and quality of our wines’.
There were clear trends in national demand, with a growing interest in white wines and also, although to a lesser extent, in red Garnacha wines, categories in which Palacios Vinos de Finca has very differentiating proposals.
The Catalan trade fair allowed to connect with hoteliers, current and potential distributors, generating business opportunities in different regions.
In general, attending the European trade fairs in Barcelona, Paris and Düsseldorf has been a fabulous opportunity to continue positioning and showcasing the quality of our Nivarius, Proelio and Trus wines in the sector.
The consolidation of our identity, the generation of new commercial opportunities and the positive perception of our wines reinforce our commitment to excellence, territory and differentiation.
